Our story
Hey! My name is Jolie Maxwell, and I am the owner of the brand. I’m 17 years old and live in Germany. My roots are Italian and Barbadian—my mom is Italian, and my dad is from Barbados.
You might have wondered why our logo is a flying fish. The answer is simple: it’s the national animal of Barbados, the country my dad is from, which makes it part of my identity as well. To be honest, though, it’s also a pretty delicious dish. I actually came up with the logo on an empty stomach while pulling an all-nighter with some friends.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and playing volleyball. I’ve been a member of the same club for four and a half years. Other passions of mine include fashion and motorsports. I also enjoy food and cooking, although I’m definitely not the best at it.
For a long time, I had the idea of starting a business. I wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted to create, and I explored many different ideas. One of them almost became reality: a platform for buying and selling clothes, similar to Vinted. However, I quickly realized how challenging the competition would be.
Eventually, I decided to follow the direction my gut had been pointing me toward all along—the one I was too afraid to admit I truly wanted. I never imagined myself starting my own clothing brand, although the idea always had a certain appeal. Yes, there are already countless clothing brands out there, and the competition is just as fierce. But I wanted to create something different—something personal, authentic, and full of potential.
I designed the “Heartbreaker” halter top with the help of my twin sister, Letisia. She played a huge role in bringing my vision to life by helping me turn all of my ideas into reality.
In the future, I look forward to introducing many new collections and perhaps becoming a well known brand arcross the world! Thanks for joining our journey and watching it up close. You guys are just as much a part of this as I am.
